Store country or region and your Apple ID

Shadowrocket is a paid client for Apple platforms, available through the App Store. All purchases and installations take place there. Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China store, so before searching, check the country or region for the Apple ID used with Media & Purchases. Your device’s location, system language, and the web address opened in a browser don’t determine your account’s store region.

The button on this page links to the US storefront. The us in the URL identifies the web storefront; it won’t change your account settings or guarantee that you can make a purchase. Seeing the app’s details on the web and being able to complete a transaction in the App Store on your device are separate things to check. Once you open the product page, rely on the availability, currency, and purchase prompts shown in the App Store on your device.

Check your account, then find the region settings

  1. Open Settings and tap the Apple ID account area at the top to check which account is signed in.
  2. Open Media & Purchases and check the account as prompted. The account used for purchases may differ from the one used for other system services.
  3. On the account page, find Country/Region to check the current storefront. To change the region, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region.

These steps help you locate the account settings. Depending on your system version, you may also see identity verification or a View Account step. Before changing regions, review the listed requirements and prompts, including any remaining balance, active subscriptions, payment method, and other account restrictions. Whether you can make the change depends on your account’s actual status; simply opening this page doesn’t mean you’re eligible. Provide account and payment details accurately as required by the system.

If the App Store says the app isn’t available in your current region, troubleshoot your account and storefront first—not Shadowrocket’s connection settings. Global Routing, server selection, and subscription updates in the app don’t change the App Store sales region. Once you’ve checked your account, return to the same product page to verify the app and purchase terms.

Before you buy

Verify Shadowrocket: developer, icon, and app ID

App names in search results can look alike. Seeing “Shadowrocket” alone isn’t enough to confirm you’ve found the right app. Open the product page, then check the developer, official icon, and app ID. All three should match. The page title, search ranking, or similar feature descriptions can’t replace these identifying details.

Check all three details

  1. Developer: Make sure the name is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Check the full name in the developer or related information section of the product page, not just the search result summary.
  2. Official icon: Look for a rocket outlined in blue and purple on a white background, matching the official icon in this site’s header. If the artwork looks similar, still verify the developer and app ID.
  3. App ID: Confirm that the product link identifies the app with id932747118 and that the number is 932747118. This ID identifies the app; it isn’t a purchase order number or account ID.

If the developer name differs from the one shown here, or the product link has a different app ID, go back and check that you have the right listing. The App Store button on this page always links to the same Shadowrocket product page. When the purchase confirmation appears, check the app name and price again to avoid buying a different item from the search results.

Check the App Store listing for the price, compatibility, in-app purchase details, and update history. Don’t infer current system requirements from an older screenshot in an article, or rely on price alone to confirm an app’s identity. Storefronts show local currencies and prices may change; the app ID and developer name are the key identifiers.

Device guide / iPhone

Buy, install, and open Shadowrocket on iPhone

On your iPhone, open the App Store product link on this page. Verify the app’s identity, then check compatibility, price, and purchase terms. Check the App Store listing for system requirements. If everything looks right, complete the purchase using the payment and authentication steps provided by the system. Wait for the App Store installation to finish, then open Shadowrocket from your Home Screen or the store page.

If the button keeps waiting, progress stalls, or an error appears, note the exact App Store message first. Storage, network, payment status, and device compatibility are separate issues. Free up storage if space is low, handle payment prompts in your account, and check the product page’s compatibility details if your system is unsupported. Tapping Buy repeatedly won’t replace these checks, and don’t submit another purchase until you’ve confirmed the status of the first transaction.

VPN configuration permission on first launch

The first time you use the connection feature, the system may ask for permission to add a VPN configuration. This system authorization lets the client establish a network connection on your device; it doesn’t provide a server or subscription. When Shadowrocket initiates the request, follow the system prompts to authorize it. Your device may ask for your passcode or other authentication. If you dismissed the prompt, look for it the next time you enable a connection. What appears depends on your device.

After opening Home, make sure you have your subscription or server details ready. Get a subscription from your service provider, then follow the tutorial to import it and test the connection. Successful installation, VPN configuration permission, and server availability are three separate checks. Completing only the first two doesn’t mean the service is ready to use.

To view your purchase history, open your account in the App Store and find Purchased or the relevant app list. Purchase history and the SERVER list in Home serve different purposes: the former confirms which account owns the app purchase; the latter manages servers for connections. Keep track of the Apple ID used for the purchase so you can restore the app on another device later.

Device guide / iPad

Install on iPad and check compatibility with other Apple devices

Shadowrocket supports iPhone and iPad. One purchase with the same Apple ID can cover installation on both eligible devices. Check the App Store listing for universal purchase eligibility and system requirements. On your iPad, open the App Store and confirm that Media & Purchases is signed in with the original purchasing account. Then find the app in Purchased or on the same product page. If you’ve already bought it, check for a redownload option first.

Don’t rely only on the account name shown at the top of each device. The account used for other system services may differ from the one used for store purchases. Check the sign-in details under Media & Purchases. If you bought Shadowrocket on iPhone but the iPad still shows a price, verify the purchasing account, storefront, and purchase history before deciding what to do. Don’t pay again just to test whether purchases have synced.

The larger iPad screen may change the layout and navigation compared with iPhone, but interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings are still useful landmarks. Following the names in the manual is more reliable than trying to match the exact position in a screenshot. After importing your details, check the selected server, Global Routing, and connection switch. Don’t assume settings from another device are already applied here.

Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision

The compatibility section on the same App Store product page also lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Open the listing on the relevant device and check whether it meets the requirements. Check the App Store listing for universal purchase eligibility and system requirements. Device interactions vary, so a purchase on iPhone doesn’t guarantee the same installation result on every device.

Use the same App Store product page to get the app on these devices. The first-launch steps on this page focus on iPhone and iPad; on other devices, follow the store prompts, permission requests, and app settings shown on that device. Buying the client and transferring its configuration are separate tasks. Being able to redownload the app doesn’t mean your server list and settings will automatically appear on every device.

For existing purchasers / New device or reinstall

Restore Shadowrocket from Purchased

When replacing a device or reinstalling, restore your app purchase first, then handle your connection details separately. With the Apple ID used for the original purchase, you can usually redownload Shadowrocket from Purchased in the App Store without paying again. The key is which account owns the purchase—not whether the app icon is still on your old device.

  1. On the new device, check the Apple ID under Media & Purchases and make sure it matches the account used for the original purchase.
  2. Go to App Store → Account → Purchased and look for Shadowrocket. Depending on the system interface, you may find it under Apps or a similar purchase list.
  3. Verify the developer and app identity, then choose to redownload. Once installation is complete, open the app to handle permissions and connection settings.
  4. Import your existing subscription or server details, check the configuration, and repeat the connection and verification steps.

If you can’t find the app in the list, check whether you’ve switched purchasing accounts, opened the correct purchase list, or hidden the item. Your account’s purchase history can help confirm which account made the transaction. If the page shows a price again, pause and check the purchase record instead of assuming a device change requires another purchase.

Family Sharing eligibility depends on the app’s current listing and your family account settings. Check the App Store listing. A family member’s purchase history isn’t the same as your personal purchase history. If you got the app through a family-related option, check your current account’s eligibility rather than assuming every member has an individual purchase.

After restoring the app, check your connection details separately

App Store purchase history restores the app; it doesn’t back up server details. Before changing devices, keep your own configuration and necessary information safe, bearing in mind that it may include subscription credentials. After installing on your new device, get a subscription from your service provider, import it by following the tutorial, then check the selected server and Global Routing. A connection that worked on your old device doesn’t confirm that the new one is set up correctly.

App updates are also delivered through the App Store. You can use automatic updates in your device settings or check for updates in the store. If connection behavior changes after an update, first determine whether the app, configuration, or subscription status changed, then note the exact message and troubleshoot. A regular update doesn’t mean you need to buy the client again.

Cost / What your purchase includes

One-time app price vs. service fees

Shadowrocket is a one-time paid app on the App Store. The US price is about $2.99; other storefronts show local currency. One-time purchase refers to the app itself—this app purchase isn’t billed monthly. Check the App Store listing for the current price, purchase terms, and in-app purchase details, and confirm the final amount in the system’s purchase dialog.

The app stores server details, applies configurations and rules, and provides connection and diagnostic tools. Server availability, account validity, service period, and usage limits depend on the service you already have. Paying for the app doesn’t create a server, so you’ll need to add your details to the SERVER list after installation. Keep the app receipt separate from your service information to make it easier to identify issues later.

If you can’t connect, first make sure the app is installed and opens normally, then check your server details, subscription update results, and Connectivity Test. If the App Store completed the transaction but you haven’t imported server details yet, the app was delivered; you’re still setting it up. If the purchase is pending or failed, check the transaction status in the store before troubleshooting in the app.

After verifying the purchase, continue with the first-time import and connection tutorial. For Config, the Config, Proxy, and Direct Global Routing modes, or configuration maintenance, see the full manual. Get the right app first, then check your configuration and connection step by step to keep purchase issues separate from setup issues.

Purchase FAQ

Download and restore FAQs

Start with the App Store prompt to identify what step you’re on, then check the relevant section.

Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?

Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China store. App Store availability depends on the country or region set for your Apple ID. Check the account used for Media & Purchases and its country or region. The “us” in a web link doesn’t change your account’s region. Check the App Store listing for current availability.

Why can’t I download Shadowrocket after opening its App Store page?

Note the exact App Store message, then check your account region, payment status, device compatibility, available storage, and network connection. Resolve purchase or account prompts in the relevant App Store section. Check the App Store listing for system requirements; repeatedly tapping Buy won’t replace these checks.

Do I have to pay again when I replace my device or reinstall Shadowrocket?

Using the Apple ID that made the original purchase, find Shadowrocket in your App Store account or purchased items and download it again, usually at no extra cost. If a price appears, first check the purchasing account and purchase history. After restoring the app, import your own subscription or server details.

Can I install Shadowrocket on iPad without buying it again?

Shadowrocket supports iPhone and iPad. With the same Apple ID used for the purchase, you can redownload it on an eligible iPad. Check the App Store listing for purchase eligibility and system requirements. The iPad layout may differ with available screen space; look for Home, Config, Settings, and other familiar sections.

Can I use Shadowrocket on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The compatibility section on the same App Store product page includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the listing in the App Store on your device to confirm availability. Check the App Store listing for universal purchase eligibility and system requirements. The same product page is the only place to get the app.

How do I follow the manual when the app interface is in English?

This official manual keeps interface labels such as Home, Add Server, Subscribe, Global Routing, Config, Proxy, and Direct in their original English, with explanations for each step. Follow the tutorial to import your details, select a server, and test the connection; there’s no need to change the interface language first. Available languages depend on what the app and system display.
